Put the People First

I am running for the U.S. Senate because I cannot sit by and watch those who are struggling to make ends meet become economic casualties in a larger political battle for power, control, and domination.

Our economy is in the midst of a downward spiral in employment, which is the aftermath of the hyperinflation in oil prices that we experienced from 2002 until mid-last year.  This downward spiral will end when private-sector businesses begin to grow, hiring workers instead of laying them off.  Consumer spending will increase once the threat of layoffs is gone.

Businesses need investment capital and lower costs to grow.  Instead of providing this capital, President Obama and the Democrats passed a spending bill that will do little to stimulate investment in the private sector and lower costs.  Their “stimulus” plan will stimulate only about 5% of the economy.  What about the other 95%, the tens of thousands of businesses that could contribute to job growth if they had investment capital and lower costs?

People need jobs to pay their bills.  Businesses create jobs, so why do we make it so difficult for them to create those jobs?  Why not make it easier?  Isn’t this just common sense?

The answer to these questions is POLITICAL IDEOLOGY.  President Obama and the Democrats have invested so much political capital in demonizing businesses and “the rich” that they ignore their potential contribution to turning our economy around.  Their political bias has ruled out as an option 95% of the solution.

President Obama’s “stimulus” plan does more to consolidate power than stimulate the economy, explaining why the spending is spread over 4 years or so.  Economic common sense has given way to the pursuit of power, while many Americans continue to struggle to make ends meet.  I have had enough of this, which is why I am running for the Senate.

People need jobs to pay their bills, so job creation should be our top national priority next to national security.  These are the objectives around which we should unite.  Anything else is secondary.  This is “Putting the People first.”

Businesses create the jobs that people need to pay their bills, so we should make it easier for businesses to create those jobs, not harder.  This is common sense.  This is “Putting the People first.”

“Putting the People first” is reducing the cost of living to help those who struggle to make ends meet by reducing the cost of government taxation, regulation, and litigation.

“Putting the People first” is eliminating the federal budget deficit and reducing the national debt because taxpayers will pay more than $2.40 for every $1.00 borrowed today by the time the debt is paid.

“Putting the People first” is expanding drilling for oil in ANWR and off-shore because this will reduce the price of oil, gasoline, heating oil, and more.

“Putting the People first” is protecting the individual liberty and economic freedom that promote personal growth and development.

If elected, I will put the people first, ahead of self and party.   I will be an economic warrior, supporting economic policies that will work to reduce the cost of living and create more jobs.  This is the only sustainable way to bring long-term economic relief to those who are struggling.  I will propose a resolution that will require an economic impact statement for all bills, resolutions, and regulations before they are voted upon or implemented.  This will expose those who promote political interests over the interest of the people.

The American people need someone in the Senate who understands the economy and who will not be afraid to “buck the system” and speak up for the people.  I will be that person.  I ask for your vote and for your help in winning this election.  Please contribute and encourage others to do the same.
